Straight answers about exact pieces, building a box, availability and delivery.
Will I receive the exact piece shown?
Yes. On an exact-piece listing, the piece pictured is the piece you receive. Seller’s Choice boxes are labelled as such and may use representative photography.
Are measurements exact?
Each listing shows the measurements taken from that individual piece. Because cork is irregular, treat them as the maximum extents of the piece rather than a uniform dimension.
How are pieces categorized?
Every piece belongs to one family: rounds, flats, half rounds, branches, statement pieces or background pieces. Its family and size are recorded on the listing.
What happens if a piece sells while I am building?
Availability is checked when you add a piece and again at checkout. If a piece sells first, it drops out and everything else in your box stays exactly as it was.
How is my shipping box chosen?
We work out the smallest box that safely holds your pieces, using their recorded dimensions and weight rather than weight alone. It is an estimate; Corkopia confirms the final packing.
What is a prebuilt box?
A box of cork chosen by Corkopia and sold by total weight, rather than piece by piece. It is its own product and does not change the exact pieces in your box.
Can I build without selecting an enclosure?
Yes. Start from a cork family, an empty box, or simply browse everything available.
Does Habitat Intelligence guarantee husbandry safety?
No. It is a planning tool that shows a layout at true scale. It is not veterinary, structural or husbandry advice, and you should check your animal’s requirements independently.
How are items packed?
Every box is packed by hand and checked against the recorded measurements before it ships. The box shown while you shop is an estimate; Corkopia confirms the final packing.
When are orders shipped?
We have not published a dispatch schedule yet, so we would rather not promise one. Contact us before ordering and we will tell you where things stand.
What happens with oversized pieces?
If a piece is too large for any of our boxes, we flag it for its own shipment or a manual review before you check out, rather than guessing at a box that will not hold it.
Can I return cork?
Our returns terms are not published yet. Contact us before ordering and we will talk it through directly.
Is cork cleaned or treated?
Contact us if you need to know how a specific piece has been handled before it ships, and we will tell you.
Can colours differ from the photographs?
Every exact-piece listing uses photographs of that actual piece. Screens and lighting still vary, so expect small differences in tone between the photograph and the cork in your hands.
